Devesh was a happy and
FREE man until the year 2003; he was enjoying his freedom and
had already developed and run three successful businesses by that
time. But Devesh wanted to learn more and grow as an entrepreneur
so he decided to do an MBA (God only knows why), and found himself
in the ‘land of opportunity’ (read America) in the
fall of 2004. He did quite well at SUNY Oswego as he got a near
perfect GPA and was welcomed into the most honorable academic
society of business graduates (Beta Gamma Sigma) for being in
the top 2% of the graduating class. He was happy, not realizing
that following his graduation from B-School he would soon be sentenced
to corporate jail. Considering it good for life, Devesh accepted
his fate and was put into various corporate and Fortune 500 jails
for over the next four years. Not finding a way out, Devesh started
planning his escape and like many other freedom fighters, Devesh
started writing a blog (we figure if historical freedom fighters
had the technology, they would have preferred blogging over pen-paper
writing) and a book while trapped inside his corporate jail (we
guess he had nothing better to do anyways)… And finally,
in September of 2009, after 4 long years of corporate jail time,
he fled the corporate coup and went on a two month long vacation
in India (We believe he deserved the break!).
Now Devesh is a FREE man again (he still wakes up screaming in
the middle of the night, and we had a hard time explaining to
the neighbors what those screams were all about, but we know for
a fact that he still gets nightmares of being in or going back
to the corporate jail). He does not want to get locked up again,
so he has started his own consulting firm. One of the passions
that Devesh developed while doing time was to help fellow corporate
prisoners escape from the cubicle farm, so he has continued to
write his blog and decided to publish his book. He envisions “Breaking
The 9to5 Jail” and “Entrepreneur In Making”
to be the #1 one-stop resources for aspiring entrepreneurs and
cubicle prisoners… Now do you know what “Breaking
the 9to5 Jail” is all about?
